World premiere Arvo Pärt at Amsterdam Cello Biennial
It is with pride that the Cello Octet can announce that Estonian composer Arvo Pärt has written a composition for Cello Octet Conjunto Ibérico. This work, titled O-Antiphonen will be premiered under conductor Elias Arizcuren at the Amsterdam Cello Biennal on October 21 at 20:30 at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ in Amsterdam. Maestro Pärt will be attending the concert.
This concert will also be the parting concert for founder of the Cello Octet Elias Arizcuren as principal conductor and artistic director of the Cello Octet.
The commission of the new Pärt work was made possible with help from the Amsterdam Cello Biennial, The Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst and the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung.

On sunday August 31, the Cello Octet brought a brand new programme to the Amsterdam Uitmarkt. Together with guitarist Marlon Titre, percussionist Yuchi Córdoba and double bass player Sven Schuster, they performed music that forms a bridge between Caribian, African and European music. Marlon Titre and Yuchi Córdoba have written new music for this project. Here you can watch a short clip of this try out concert.
